This year we had a record-setting number of entries, not just for AMT, but for any Toasted Cheese contest ever. In addition, the quality of the entries made judging a challenge. So thanks to all who entered; Beaver very much enjoyed circumventing the world via your road trip stories! Special mention goes to Adrian S. Potter, Jeanette Hurt, Laurie Weed, S.B. Jonassen, & Jon Kohl, who also made the judge's short list.

Our youngest entrant this time around was 13. Keep writing, Marissa!

Our farthest-away entrant was one of our third place winners, Fatima Noronha, from Goa, India.

Props to Peter Anderson for the best title: "This Guy Probably Wants Change for a Confederate Thirteen Dollar Bill." Although, perhaps the real credit should go to his dad, Bob. ;-)

You can read the winning stories, as well as excerpts from the honorable mentions, in the September issue of Toasted Cheese.

The 2006 A Midsummer Tale Writing Contest opens May 1, 2006. Toasted Cheese's next contest is Three Cheers and a Tiger in September.
