We were very pleased with the quality and variety of the entries and invite all of our entrants back for DOW 2009.
The winning stories are:

We invite you to post your non-winning entries for feedback at our password-protected forums.
Our next contest is the spring “Three Cheers and a Tiger” – write a mystery in a weekend. Theme and word limit will be announced March 20 at 5 p.m. EST on our main board; contest closes at 5 p.m. EST March 22. Our ninth annual “Dead of Winter” short fiction contest opens November 1st with theme and word count limit announced on our main board.
